GOYER SAYS SUPERMAN BATMAN IS" FURTHER ALONG THEN PEOPLE THINK!" THEY HAVE THEIR SH#T TOGETHER!

News has been slowly trickling out from David Goyer, who was at the BAFTAs this week regarding his work in the DC Universe. He has talked on a wide range of topics, from Man Of Steel’s Justice League, and his work with Christopher Nolan on The Dark Knight Trilogy. However, there is one topic that hasn’t been touched on all that much yet, the much anticipated Superman/Batman movie.
ending,
The Associated Press got a chance to chat with Goyer a little bit where he said that they are a little bit further along than what people probably realize. He also touched on whether or not fan backlash effects what they do. “One of the things that has been fun for us, is we’re a bit a further a long than what I think people realize,” he expained. “From a fan point of view, we’re conscious of that when you’re working on these things, but you can’t let yourself be paralyzed by that. At the end of the day you still have to creat something. And if you try and think, ‘Well what would the fans like’ then you stop being creative. It’s sort of like where does it end? You have to write the story that you want to write, and hope that people want to see it.”
What about the famed question, who would win in a fight between Superman and Batman? Goyer is remaining tight lipped on his opinion for fear that it might tip his hand, saying we’ll have to wait for a year and a half when the film comes out. However, he did offer this bit up, “Most comic book purest would says Batman because he is the ultimate strategist. Even though it makes no sense what so ever. If Superman just flicked his finger Batman would be done for.” So who do you have in a fight between the characters? Leave a comment in the boxes below on who you think would come out on top. As always make sure to check back here at Comic Book Therapy for the latest on Superman/Batman.

New Ben Affleck Batman Will Be Seasoned Veteran! Says WB CEO Kevin Tsujihara! could he have Robin and Batfamily?

New Ben Affleck Batman Will Be Seasoned Veteran Says WB CEO Kevin Tsujihara

10999
We get our first official character description for the new Ben Affleck Batman from Warner Bros. CEO Kevin Tsujihara.
Tsujihara gave the new Batman description at the Bank of America Merrill Lynch Media investor gathering.
The WB CEO offered (via Variety):
The new Batman will be "tired and weary and seasoned and been doing it for awhile" as well as adding that Ben Affleck is "perfect" for the film that Zack Snyder is doing.
Regarding Man of SteelTsujihara stated that the studio "could not be happier" about its box office performance, currently at $660 million worldwide, adding, “we think it’s the perfect springboard for Batman and Superman."
And about the untitled Batman Vs. Superman movie, Tsujihara offered, "We think it’s going to be huge."
Tsujihara also noted there will be “a lot of announcements” surrounding DC Comics with specific mention of their three animated shows.
The new Batman being a seasoned veteran seems to contradict earlier statements made by writer David Goyer who previously stated the following about Man of Steel: "There are other superheroes in this world. But I don’t know that they’ve come forward yet. The idea is that Superman is the first one. There might be people helping people, but not in costumes, and that Superman comes forward and announces himself to the world. In him announcing himself, he’s the one that changes things."
With the new Ben Affleck Batman having done "it for a while" it suggests the Gotham City Caped Crusader has obviously been around a long time. It should be interesting to see how they deal with the fact that no Batman was mentioned in Man of Steel (where was Batman?) or made an appearance for that matter. It may also suggest that a full-blown origin story for Batman is not in the cards (as Nolan just did it with Batman Begins).
Goyer's comments also suggest  - as has been previously mentioned and what Zack Snyder seemed to insinuate - is that Warner Bros. went in a different direction than what Goyer and Snyder originally intended. Snyder and Goyer wanted more Superman, but Warner Bros. obviously went with Batman.
It remains to be seen just how much Batman.
The sequel to "Man of Steel" goes into production next year for a July 17, 2015 release starring Ben Affleck as Batman, Henry Cavill as Superman, Amy Adams, Laurence Fishburne and Diane Lane.

ROBIN CHRIS ODONNELL APPROVES OF BEN AFFLECK CASTING! AWESOME SAYS IT RAISES INTEREST IN THE FILM! COULD ROBIN BE IN BATMAN/ SUPERMAN?

Former Robin Chris O’Donnell Says Ben Affleck Batman Casting Raises Interest Level For Film

" itemprop="thumbnailURL"/>

Chris O'Donnell RobinAny actor who has ever been associated with Batman in any way can look forward to being asked their opinion on the casting of Ben Affleck as Batman in the coming months. We’ve already heard Adam West provide Ben Affleck with a helpful personal hygiene tip.
Now, we have a former Robin weighing in with his opinion. In an interview with ET Canada, Chris O’Donnell, who played Robin in Batman & Robin and Batman Forever, voiced his support of the Ben Affleck casting. O’Donnell said, “I think it’s great. I think Ben will be a great Bruce Wayne.”
O’Donnell added, “He’s been on huge films before. Ben knows what he’s doing… I think it really raises the interest level for that movie — not that there wouldn’t already be — but there’s a huge section of the movie-going population that is really going to be interested in that film now because Ben’s in it, especially coming off Argo.”
In addition to thinking that Ben Affleck will do a great job playing Batman, O’Donnell also mentioned that he could see Affleck eventually directing a Justice League movie.
there have been  ridiculous rumors that were squashed the  next day about timberlake being robin which thankfully were false. but you know that old adage where theres smoke theres fire.. could Robin Possibley Be in MOS2 I Sincerely hope SO, if this is a War torn batman , hes already been through everyong all his villains are there SO Robin Should be there as well and we don't have to go through all the origin nonsense! WB BRING ROBIN BACK!!

YES FIRST NOLAN GONE! NOW BEN AFFLECK TO HELP WRITE SUPERMAN BATMAN SCRIPT WITH SNYDER AND GOYER! PERFECT AWESOMNESS!!

According to indiewire.com Ben Affleck wouldn't take on the role as Batman unless he had some control over the script. This sounds like AWESOME news considering Ben Affleck wrote The Town and Good Will Hunting. So if Ben really can get to co-write with Goyer perhaps Ben Affleck's casting as Batman/Bruce Wayne won't be as bad as many are BSING ABOUT!..  Source; http://blogs.indiewire.com/thompsononhollywood/be-affleck-is-the-new-batman-in-snyders-superman-batman

CONFIRMED HALLELUJAH NOLAN GONE FROM SUPERMANVS BATMAN!!

Christopher Nolan no longer involved in 'Superman vs Batman!!!
 |  By  |  13 comments
Christopher Nolan is no longer involved in Superman vs Batman, according to reports.

Nolan and wife Emma Thomas were not listed as being involved in the project on the press release for the 2015 Man of Steel sequel.

The pair - who served as producers on this year's Superman reboot - were thought to be on board for Zack Snyder's sequel, which will see Henry Cavill's character meet Batman.

It was pointed out by The Playlist that Nolan's name was "conspicuously absent" from the latest press release for the superhero movie.

However, Box Office Mojo's Ray Subers responded on Twitter: "@ThePlaylist "On Friday WB told me the Nolans were still EPs. But I agree, it is very odd that they weren't in the press release."

CONFIRMED: Ben Affleck Has Signed On For Multiple Films; TAKE THAT HATERS! Production On BATMAN/SUPERMAN Begins In February 2014

Earlier this week I reported that Ben Affleck had signed on for a "huge" contract deal. This contract would allow cameos from Affleck's 'Batman' in such films as Green Lantern, Wonder Woman, The Flash etc. The list goes on. It has now been confirmed by Collider, that Affleck has in fact signed that whopper of a contract. Although this contract rumour wasn't really a rumour considering Affleck is playing the Goddamn Batman, it's still nice to see that Ben isn't "too mainstream" for contracts. Another new detail regarding the film's production date, Collider also reports that the film is set to begin production in February of 2014. This is really exciting news, if the film begins production in February, and we are in late August now, when could we expect a Lex Luthor casting? If I were to make a good estimate on when we'll find out who the new Lex is, it'd guess around October, early November. I think it's inspired casting!!! I'm fully on board this, I cannot stress enough how much I love this casting!

ETHAN HAWKE TO BE BATMAN IN MAN OF STEEL SEQUEL? he was up for the role in SHUMACERS FOREVER!

Ethan Hawke Up For Batman Role In Batman Vs. Superman? It Wouldn’t Be His First Shot At Batman.

" itemprop="thumbnailURL"/>

In the future, every actor will be rumored to play Batman for at least 15 minutes. When news of a Batman Vs. Superman movie was first announced, everyone seemed to be assuming Warner Bros. would be looking for a younger actor to play Batman for several years. All the initial rumors seemed to revolve around up and coming young stars.
However, when rumors surfaced that Warner Bros. was actually looking for an actor in his late thirties or early forties to play an older Batman, the casting rumors rapidly changed. The latest rumor suggests that Ethan Hawke could be up for the Batman role or at least some role in Batman Vs. Superman.
According to a fan site called DC Warnerbros (not the actual Warner Bros.), one of their contributors has said that Ethan Hawke was seen meeting with Man Of Steel director Zack Snyder and Man of Steel executive producer Thomas Tull in Wisconsin (no explanation as to why they chose to meet there). However, with Ethan Hawke seeing a resurgence in his career, it wouldn’t be surprising that Snyder and Tull might meet with him.
What is a little more surprising is that the site’s source also indicated that Hawke might be up for the Batman role. Ethan Hawke is 42 years old, so he would fit the age range that Warner Bros. is reportedly seeking for the role.
While we might be tempted to pass on this rumor, given all the various actors being tied to the Batman role, there is one other thing that makes us think there could be something to this story. In an interview with Details Magazine back in 2011, Ethan Hawk revealed that he previously was offered the Batman role, but he turned it down, which he later regretted doing so. Hawke said, “Now I wish I’d done it, because I could have used it to do other things.”
Could Ethan Hawke be getting a second chance at Batman?

BREAKING TYLER HOECHLIN UP FOR BATMAN IN SUPERMAN/BATMAN!

Exclusive: Tyler Hoechlin Up For New Batman; Screen Test With Henry Cavill; Plot For New Superman/Bats Movie

    9742
Last Saturday at Comic-Con following the Warner Bros. panel, attendees were graced with a surprise visit by Man of Steel director Zack Snyder and Harry Lennix announcing the next Superman movie
Lennix read text from Frank Miller's The Dark Knight Returns graphic novel, and then a Superman/Batman logo was revealed to a stunned audience.
The audience quickly erupted with cheers of enthusiasm as Snyder revealed that the new Batman will be a part of the sequel to Man of Steel.
Our DC Entertainment source who provided us with first draft script details for Man of Steel, which included mention of LexCorps in the Metropolis skyline as well as the bus scene with Lana Lang witnessing a young Clark Kent using his super powers, has sent over some information on the upcoming as-of-yet untitled Superman/Batman movie.
Our DC Entertainment source also previously provided us with information on the Batman reboot, which was said to be in part based on the popular Batman Arkham video game franchise. That now looks to be adapted into the recently announced Batman: Arkham Assault animated movie slated for 2014.
We're told Warner Bros. didn't go forward with the Arkham adaptation because they want to get both Batman and Superman out into the cinema quickly. Also, that Snyder and Goyer plot-wise initially didn't have Batman vs. Superman, but since WB wanted to move things along they essentially are combining two films in one, with the movie having been in pre-production for a couple months (merchandising underway as well etc.). We're told, "Snyder is really loving building the DC Cinematic Universe."
9744 Regarding the new Batman, Tyler Hoechlin (Teen Wolf, Lincoln Heights, 7th Heaven, Road To Perdition) is being heavily considered for the part and will be getting a screen test alongside Henry Cavill. Warner Bros. and Snyder are looking at somebody to play the new Batman with a reputation similar to Cavill's, when Cavill was testing for Superman. It's also said that better known actors could also be testing for the role. As filming is expected to begin in early 2014, screen tests should be happening soon.
WERE  also told that the Superman/Batman movie will features villains (in the plural), with it currently thought that the Joker and Lex Luthor team up; however, the source said the villains are only known by a select few, but Luthor is all but guaranteed.
Regarding the plot of the film:
"The sequel is set a year after Man of Steel, and the world is still getting used to having this powerful god on the planet who isn't fully trusted by everybody. Batman certainly doesn't trust Superman. Superman doesn't trust Batman; either of which causes the two to clash when they initially meet. They do however pair up to defeat the villains (not 100% confirmed who the villains are). COULD be Luthor and Joker, but only a select few really know that. Luthor is definitely in the sequel and he doesn't like Superman, believing him a threat to the planet."
Previous to Comic-Con there was also rumor of a Justice League movie and a film for The Flash; however, Snyder only announced Superman/Batman.
We've been told there is a lot in the works being built up to Justice League, which will take place after Superman/Batman with The Flash possibly spinning out of that (the previous rumor said Flash before JL). Also, expect a lot of Easter Eggs to the Justice League members in Superman/Batman with characters like Wonder Woman, The Flash and Green Lantern getting referenced.
Our DC Entertainment Source also says it looks as if the Justice League movie will feature the DC Comics New 52 characters, which could mean no Martian Manhunter, but Cyborg.

DEADLINE CONFIRMS GOYER TO WRITE JUSTICE LEAUGE!

David S. Goyer Confirmed To Write JUSTICE LEAGUE For WB

It seems like those rumors from a while back were true: Along with a very interesting update to Deadline's Man Of Steel sequel story, we (may) have some info straight from Goyer himself while speaking at the movie's premiere.

                        By ANDREW FRANCIS

Along with the news that David S. Goyer would return to work on the script for the Man of Steel sequel, Deadline have now revealed that he's also writing Justice League! "Goyers’ deal is part of a huge 3-picture deal he signed at Warner Bros for Man Of Steel, the sequel, and Justice League with Superman". We reported a rumor that claimed as much a while ago, but there had been no confirmation or debunking, and most of us assumed it was just wishful (or not depending on whether you're a fan) thinking. Also, it seems Kel from Latino Review overheard the writer admit that he's working on the movie at the Man Of Steel premiere:

Of course he may have misheard, but the Deadline info alone would seem to confirm that Goyer is indeed penning WB's Justice League flick. What do you guys think of this news?

GOYER SAYS NOLANS BATMAN IS OVER DIFFERENT BATMAN NO NOLAN BATMAN OR BALE IN JUSTICE LEAUGE THANK GOD! "TDK TRILOGY DOES NOT EXIST IN MAN OF STEEL"

GOYER ON JUSTICE LEAUGE SAYS NOLANS BATMAN OR TDK TRILOGY DOES NOT EXIST IN MAN OF STEEL UNIVERSE! WILL BE NEW BATMAN! YES!
More From David S. Goyer On JUSTICE LEAGUE, Batman And Cyborg? nolans batman doesn't exist in man of steel  universe! New BATMAN!Man of Steel screenwriter David S. Goyer says Christopher Nolan's Batman exists in a completely separate world, so don't expect to see Christian Bale or Joseph Gordon-Levitt on screen with Henry Cavill's Superman.(THANK GOD) Plus, a Cyborg Easter Egg?
MTV caught up with The Dark Knight Rises and Man of Steel screenwriter David S. Goyer at the red carpet premiere of Man of Steel and put him to the question about Justice League and Batman. We've heard news that Goyer was writing Justice League but so far, information has all been from second-hand sources. For now, it appears the only thing truly confirmed is that Goyer is returning alongside director Zack Snyder for the Man of Steel sequel. Touching on Justice League, Goyer state, "If I were offered it, I wouldn't say no. Well, what are you going to do after Batman and Superman? How do you top yourself? I can't go back to Metamorpho after this."

When asked about what other Easter Eggs, Goyer stated, "We mentioned SPOILER: [STAR LABS] at one point, that's kind of a connection to Cyborg." As many DC Comics readers will note, with the launch of The New 52, long-time Teen Titans member Cyborg circumvented that past association and is now one of the founding members of the Justice League. With talk swirling around a potential Justice League film, is it really just a coincidence that Goyer specifically mentions the character?

And when asked whether Christopher Nolan's Batman trilogy could ever mesh with what Zack Snyder created in Man of Steel, Goyer added, "The 'Dark Knight' films do not exist in the same universe. Zack [Snyder] has gone on record. The fact that we have Wayne Industries on the satellite, Bruce Wayne exists in this universe. Lex Luthor exists in this universe. Other metahumans do exist in this universe, so the hope is, depending on how the film does, that we'll be able to roll into some other films."

ZACK SNYDER SIGNED ON TO DIRCET JUSTICE LEAGE? YES PLEASE!!

HAS ZACK SNYDER OFFICIALLY AGREED TO DIRECT ‘JUSTICE LEAGUE?’

    Justice League Lineup
    DC Comics

There have been rumors that ‘Man of Steel‘ director Zack Snyder and Ruben Fleischer (‘Zombieland’) were frontrunners to direct Warner Bros. planned ‘Justice League‘ movie. Today, we spoke with Fleischer about those rumors and asked about whether he still has his eyes set on ‘Justice League’ he revealed he’s no longer in the running. And why? Because he says Snyder already has the job.
As the ‘Man of Steel’ buzz gets stronger and stronger, it shouldn’t be surprising that Warner Bros. is looking for Snyder to return and direct the ‘Justice League’ movie. Up until now, Synder has issued a curt “no comment” whenever asked about the reports but it looks like Fleischer – Snyder’s friend and fellow candidate for the ‘Justice League’ gig – may have outed him.
Fleischer is out promoting ‘Gangster Squad‘ (which hits DVD and Blu-ray on April 23) and we asked if he was still interested in directing ‘Justice League’ after his name was on the shortlist of directors last year. He said he’s definitely interested in directing a big superhero film but it wasn’t going to be ‘Justice League.’ And why not? Says Fleischer:
Well that’s something that Zack Snyder is going to wind up doing.
Now it’s possible that Fleischer is just speculating or basing this on something he read on the internet but a) he and Snyder are friends and b) Fleischer worked with ‘Justice League’ writer Will Beall on ‘Gangster Squad’ so there’s a very good chance he’s in the know. Also, we can’t believe a director would take himself out of the running for a big superhero film based off a rumor he read on the internet.
We reached out to Snyder’s reps for comment and have yet to hear back.
If ‘Man of Steel’ is as good as we’ve heard (and we’ve heard it is indeed very good), then keeping Snyder in the fold would be a smart move for Warner Bros.

POSSIBLE BOMBSHELL JUSTICE LEAUGE NEWS! and on our Sites ANNIVERSARY! JUSTICE LEAUGE WILL BE A DIRECT SEQUEL TO MAN OF STEEL!? AWESOME! NEW BATMAN!!

a happy 3rd anniverssary for BATMANNROBINONFILM INDEED! now take this with a grain of salt for right now. but this is from and Imdb poster who goes by ULTIMAREX and is usually reliable but if true this could be Mindblowingly FANTASTIC!
So I've been putting out feelers for info recently with the tiny amount of people I know in the industry (no one major) and one of them dropped a probable bombshell today.

Bear in mind that this is fourth-hand at best from shifting sands and my source is iffy about it so big grain of salt time.

    Ready? Deep breath...

    MOS2 is Justice League.

Towards the end of post on MOS WB fell in love with it and out of love with Will Beall's "separate universe" JL script. But they still want JL for 2015 and they also want a MOS sequel sooner rather than later.

So the plan is to slap the two together.

The only details given to me is JL is a direct sequel to MOS with Goyer writing and Snyder directing. After MOS Lex Luthor starts gathering supervillians for a "society" so Superman has to put together the League to fight them. Also the TDK trilogy is indeed separate so there will be a new Batman. No Bale or JGL.

Warner Bros. President Says Christopher Nolan is Not Involved with Justice League

One of the LAMEST, imo rumors to come out in the past few months was that Christopher Nolan, the director of The Dark Knight trilogy, would be shepherding the Justice League movie at Warner Bros. We’re ELATED AND HAPPY to report that this was a case of ‘a fool named El mayimbe from a site  i like to call " CRAPTINO" review Jumping the gun
’ as EW has confirmed with Warner Bros. President Jeff Robinov that this rumor is not true.
When asked if it was true that Nolan would be bringing the project to life with his former Batman Christian Bale, he left no room for interpretation and simply said “No, it’s not.”
Christopher Nolan’s representatives also confirmed that Nolan was never involved with the project and is working solely on his upcoming film Interstellar.
All the fans that wanted a JLA movie first and no Worlds finest can finally have a sigh of relief! YES! and it  appears the film is still on track to  get made. Man of Steel producer Chris Roven says the upcoming Superman reboot will pave the way for future films.
“It’s setting the tone for what the movies are going to be like going forward, In that, Man of Steel is definitely a first step. Nolan’s Dark Knight series was deliberately and smartly positioned as a stand-alone. The world the films lived in was very isolated, without any knowledge of other superheroes. What Zack and Chris have done with this film is allow you to really introduce other characters into the same world.”
Man of Steel hits theaters June 14 while Justice League is rumored to be targeting a summer 2015 release date.

WARNER BROS GOING ON a 60s BATMAN MERCHANDISING BLITZ THIS YEAR!

Warner Bros. Getting Ready To Merchandise The Heck Out Of The 1960s Batman TV Show
As a blitz of merchandise hits store shelves for "The Dark Knight Rises," Warner Bros. is turning to a campier source for a new Caped Crusader product: the 1960s "Batman" TV series.
For the first time in 40 years, Warner Bros. Consumer Products will be able to use the likeness of the show's stars, including Adam West, Burt Ward, Cesar Romero and Burgess Meredith, on everything from apparel to toys, home goods, publishing and promotions.

WBCP will introduce the new "Batman" product opportunities to potential partners and retailers at next week's Licensing Expo, running June 12-14 in Las Vegas. First products will launch in the spring.

Retailers had requested a larger merchandise line tied to the show over the years, but studio arm had previously been able to use only the series' logo, POW!-packed animated opening sequence and the Batmobile for product, not the actors, due to rights issues as the series was produced by 20th Century Fox. As a result, studio was limited to a small line of T-shirts and a die-cast Batmobile made by Mattel.

Studio began negotiating with Fox, West and the estates of the show's other thesps for the rights to their likenesses in August 2009. Batman is a DC Comics character.

Division is eager to exploit the "Batman" series, which aired on ABC from 1966-68, especially its colorful characters, gadgets like the Bat phone and Bat boat, and kitschy humor, an easier sell for retailers than the darker, more serious and gritty tone of Christopher Nolan's film trilogy.

Company is talking to department stores about carrying exclusive lines of "Batman" show merchandise, the way Bloomingdale's turned to its household brands like Marc Jacobs and Psycho Bunny to tap into the 75th anniversary of DC Comics.

"For the first time in over 40 years we will be able to offer fans a full merchandise program that captures the classic, kitschy look and feel of the original 'Batman' TV show," said Brad Globe, president of Warner Bros. Consumer Products. "This new licensing program allows our partners to take advantage of the characters, gadgets and humor that made the show a smash hit in its day and a perennial favorite decades later."

Warner Bros. also will promote "Man of Steel," the next two "Hobbit" films, "The Looney Tunes Show," "The Wizard of Oz," "Scooby-Doo" and "ThunderCats" TV shows at the Licensing Expo.

    More Batman 60s Comicbook INFO!!

COMICS: Details And Teaser Art For BATMAN '66

Earlier on we revealed that DC are planning a new comic series based on the classic '60s Batman tv show, and now we have details on the creative team as well as lots of cool artwork and quotes from DC Pres Diane Nelson. Check it out after the jump..

Newsarama have revealed the details on DC's upcoming Batman '66 series. According to them the series will initially launch as a digital-first comic book in Summer 2013, and will be written by Jeff Parker with rotating artists - starting with Jonathan Case. Later the series will be collected in print. They are also debuting this groovy artwork from the series, giving us a look at Batman, Robin and all of the main villains from the show with only The Penguin conspicuous by his absence. Apparently The Riddler will be the first villain featured.

Says DC Entertainment President Diane Nelson:

“The juxtaposition of offering a retro BATMAN ’66 comic as a current and modern digital first title is fun. DC Entertainment is the most prolific producer of digital first comics and, as we work to create new and compelling content, this is a great way to also preserve the legacy of our characters. It’s exciting to roll out the new BATMAN ’66 comic as part of this bigger initiative with our Warner Bros Consumer Product partners.”
