Former Robin Chris O’Donnell Says Ben Affleck Batman Casting Raises Interest Level For Film

Any actor who has ever been associated with Batman in any way can look forward to being asked their opinion on the casting of Ben Affleck as Batman in the coming months. We’ve already heard Adam West provide Ben Affleck with a helpful personal hygiene tip.
Now, we have a former Robin weighing in with his opinion. In an interview with ET Canada, Chris O’Donnell, who played Robin in Batman & Robin and Batman Forever, voiced his support of the Ben Affleck casting. O’Donnell said, “I think it’s great. I think Ben will be a great Bruce Wayne.”
O’Donnell added, “He’s been on huge films before. Ben knows what he’s doing… I think it really raises the interest level for that movie — not that there wouldn’t already be — but there’s a huge section of the movie-going population that is really going to be interested in that film now because Ben’s in it, especially coming off Argo.”
In addition to thinking that Ben Affleck will do a great job playing Batman, O’Donnell also mentioned that he could see Affleck eventually directing a Justice League movie.
there have been ridiculous rumors that were squashed the next day about timberlake being robin which thankfully were false. but you know that old adage where theres smoke theres fire.. could Robin Possibley Be in MOS2 I Sincerely hope SO, if this is a War torn batman , hes already been through everyong all his villains are there SO Robin Should be there as well and we don't have to go through all the origin nonsense! WB BRING ROBIN BACK!!
According to indiewire.com Ben Affleck wouldn't take on the role as Batman unless he had some control over the script. This sounds like AWESOME news considering Ben Affleck wrote The Town and Good Will Hunting. So if Ben really can get to co-write with Goyer perhaps Ben Affleck's casting as Batman/Bruce Wayne won't be as bad as many are BSING ABOUT!.. The pair - who served as producers on this year's Superman reboot - were thought to be on board for Zack Snyder's sequel, which will see Henry Cavill's character meet Batman.
It was pointed out by The Playlist that Nolan's name was "conspicuously absent" from the latest press release for the superhero movie.
However, Box Office Mojo's Ray Subers responded on Twitter: "@ThePlaylist "On Friday WB told me the Nolans were still EPs. But I agree, it is very odd that they weren't in the press release."
Earlier this week I reported that Ben Affleck had signed on for a "huge" contract deal. This contract would allow cameos from Affleck's 'Batman' in such films as Green Lantern, Wonder Woman, The Flash etc. The list goes on. It has now been confirmed by Collider, that Affleck has in fact signed that whopper of a contract. Although this contract rumour wasn't really a rumour considering Affleck is playing the Goddamn Batman, it's still nice to see that Ben isn't "too mainstream" for contracts. Another new detail regarding the film's production date, Collider also reports that the film is set to begin production in February of 2014. This is really exciting news, if the film begins production in February, and we are in late August now, when could we expect a Lex Luthor casting? If I were to make a good estimate on when we'll find out who the new Lex is, it'd guess around October, early November. I think it's inspired casting!!! I'm fully on board this, I cannot stress enough how much I love this casting!
Batman/Superman (working title) Is set to hit theatres everywhere, July 15th, 2015
Ethan Hawke Up For Batman Role In Batman Vs. Superman? It Wouldn’t Be His First Shot At Batman.
" itemprop="thumbnailURL"/>
In the future, every actor will be rumored to play Batman for at least 15 minutes. When news of a Batman Vs. Superman movie was first announced, everyone seemed to be assuming Warner Bros. would be looking for a younger actor to play Batman for several years. All the initial rumors seemed to revolve around up and coming young stars.
However, when rumors surfaced that Warner Bros. was actually looking for an actor in his late thirties or early forties to play an older Batman, the casting rumors rapidly changed. The latest rumor suggests that Ethan Hawke could be up for the Batman role or at least some role in Batman Vs. Superman.
According to a fan site called DC Warnerbros (not the actual Warner Bros.), one of their contributors has said that Ethan Hawke was seen meeting with Man Of Steel director Zack Snyder and Man of Steel executive producer Thomas Tull in Wisconsin (no explanation as to why they chose to meet there). However, with Ethan Hawke seeing a resurgence in his career, it wouldn’t be surprising that Snyder and Tull might meet with him.
What is a little more surprising is that the site’s source also indicated that Hawke might be up for the Batman role. Ethan Hawke is 42 years old, so he would fit the age range that Warner Bros. is reportedly seeking for the role.
While we might be tempted to pass on this rumor, given all the various actors being tied to the Batman role, there is one other thing that makes us think there could be something to this story. In an interview with Details Magazine back in 2011, Ethan Hawk revealed that he previously was offered the Batman role, but he turned it down, which he later regretted doing so. Hawke said, “Now I wish I’d done it, because I could have used it to do other things.”
Could Ethan Hawke be getting a second chance at Batman?
Hate to say I told you so... but as soon as I saw this supposed BS source about the bale offer said " Sources close to legendary pictures" I knew it was straight up NONSENSE! because as I have been Saying, Legendary pictures has had all ties severed with WB DC and will have no Association with any WB DC films! they have been replaced by Dune pictures and now the Hollywood Reporter Confirms and weighs in!
